Big Island’s Hottest Latin group, Fuego Latin Orchestra Hawaii, plays a variety of musical genres encompassing rhythms from tip to tip of Latin America. This big Island band has been blessing worldwide stages with their infectious beat and energy for many years. The orchestra boasts a full horn section pumping out crisp melodies, powerful harmonies, instrumental solos on bass, keyboard, congas, horns and drums, all your favorite classics for salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, tango for Latin dancing. Yumbel Marassi is a dynamic and versatile bassist, vocalist and leader of FUEGO Latin Orchestra Hawaii. Originally from Argentina, he was named Cultural Ambassador of El Bolson in Patagonia, where he was born into the bosom of the Argentine National Rock scene that shaped his life and musical experience. He has played professionally for over 20 years and has shared the stage with national and international artists.
Yumbel and his inspirational and supportive family reside in Hawi on the Big Island of Hawaii. He is a gregarious session musician who lends his talents to numerous bands like the Big Island Groove Band and Larry Dupio’s Santana Experience. A gifted and creative songwriter, he emits all his performances with personality and energetic, deep basslines that have the ability to transmit emotion and engage an audience.
The Fuego Latin Orchestra Hawaii also includes: piano virtuoso and vocalist Mateo Belmarez, multi-sax player and Na Hoku Hanohano recipient Jesse Snyder, Fuego original trumpet master Michaeloha Elam and blaring Lance Aguirre, terrific trombonists Bill Wingert and Jenny Brown, percussionist/vocalist Brad Belmarez and beatman Dustin Toma on drums.
